PORT PHILLIP ESTATE

(This song reminds me so much of Guam--it plays at every BBQ--but is so appropriate for this post.)

Let me just begin with how cool my Dad is.  It was a long weekend because of Easter and Anzac Day-- which is Australia's equivalent to Veterans Day--just to catch you all up.  So my Dad, the coolest cat around, surprised my Mom and I by taking us out to a vineyard of his choosing.  Enter 'Port Phillip Estate'.  It was one of the most stunning places I have ever seen: sweeping vineyards, architecture with the most beautiful lines, a fully serviced restaurant with a menu of pure decadence, and of course, the delightful variety of wine.  I tried not to drool with my jaw on the pristine floor.  Take a look for yourself but let me take a moment to say how grateful I am that I have this experience to do things like this.  I swear my life isn't usually so exciting and fancy.

Raining when we left.
Sunny when we arrived.
Dad of the Year (1988-Now)
Goat cheese and pesto crostini
Oyster with salmon roe and special vinegar sauce, Corn soup with abalone and soy miso, Fresh salmon also with salmon roe and awesome dressing.
Breast of guinea fowl with lentils and bacon with a shepard's pie. MMMMM.
Dessert #1: Apricot tart.
#2: Chocolate molten-cake-like dessert with passion fruit, vanilla ice cream and carmel drip.

#3: Chocolate mouse, fig and vanilla bean ice cream.
Cherry chocolate with cappucino!
The most beautiful combination of words in the English vocabulary.  Donnie Darko anyone?
View outside as we left.
The beauty that is Australia.
