My friends and I had been talking about doing karaoke together for about a year, and so it seemed fitting that my last night we would finally do it. The day was spent lounging around, making an impromptu movie and hanging out in the car brainstorming all the songs we were going to sing later that night. Simply put, I had a great last day. (Except for the fact that Bamboo 7 didn't have 'Sweet Fantasy' by Mariah Carey or 'Love Fool' by the Cardigans. Or that some people I would of really, really liked to be there couldn't make it out: You know who you are.)
It's funny how when I had imagined saying my goodbyes I had thought that maybe there would be an entire room full of the people I care about. There would be a prepared speech I would give. I'd tell them how much they mean to me and how excited I am to be going on this new route. How I wish I could take them with me. But instead, I found my goodbyes were anti-climactic more than anything. And I suppose it's better that way. Anyways, who knows when I will be back or when we will reunite--it could be sooner rather than later. And sometimes there's nothing that says it better than "goodbye".
